To date we have found that very little information, if any, exists about the Soemtron 8601aPrüfgeräte and certainly no technical information appears to have survived at all, however we have managed to gather a collection of photos shown here. Click any image for a larger version

If you have any further historical information, circuits, drawings, photographs, data or manuals about the Soemtron ETR220, 221, 222 and 224 or their manufacture, test equipment (Prüfgeräte) or you just know more about the Soemtron companies in general then please let us know, contact us.

	The left image is the Soemtron Prüfgerät 8601a as used in the ETR22x series calculator production line

The basic 8601a was used in the factory on the Soemtron EFA 382/3/5 Electronic Billing machines and the ETR22 calculators, with overlay panels to customise the display for each model under test. It's not known if there were custominterface cables. The same equipment was also used for field service engineers, as our machine has a custom leather (?) carry case with several overlay panels. There was also a miniature version of the 8601a called the MINITESTER.
